What are the effects of Henna?
Henna is a natural substance which is completely healthy and safe. It is used as a coolant, natural dye, hair conditioner and for healing purpose. Initially, it was used to apply on the feet of people living in desserts, to let out body heat and provide cooling. After the dye property was known, henna was used on skin and hair.
Henna can also act as a healer. It helps to soften the skin, especially the coarse skin formed on feet due to wear and tear and also makes the nails healthy.
Very rarely, people can be allergic to oils used in henna paste. Oils such as eucalyptus oil, lavender oil, clove oil and rose oil are used. If anyone is allergic to any of the oils he should mention that to the henna artist. And even if henna is applied, the allergic person will feel a slight reaction and he/she should wash it off immediately. No further problem will be encountered. People with highly sensitive skin should abstain from applying any new substance, as such.
